Ciao, iniziamo questo articolo subito con una domanda e se la risposta è “SI“, siete curiose della cultura giapponese come noi e ne siamo felici, se invece la risposta è “NO“, vi spieghiamo subito in breve di cosa si tratta.
🔸Kamishibai (纸 芝 居), che può essere tradotto come “dramma di carta”, (da Kami: Paper e Shibai: Theatre / Drama) è una tecnica narrativa giapponese che appartiene a una lunga tradizione di storie di strada, la cui origine può essere fatta risalire ai templi buddisti del Giappone del XII secolo.
Il dispositivo si basa sullo scorrimento di singole tavole illustrate, che vengono inserite dal narratore (il kamishibaya) all’interno di un piccolo teatro in legno (il butai) e attraverso il loro scorrimento danno vita ad una storia.
Ora che sapete cosa è un kamishibai, vi illustriamo il progetto a cui abbiamo partecipato.
Nella nostra città si sono tenuti due laboratori che prevedevano la realizzazione del Kamishibai, quello di falegnameria a cura di TESTA DI LEGNO 🔨 e serigrafia a cura di Else Edizioni 🎨
Eravamo divisi in gruppi, cosi ci siamo divise e abbiamo realizzato due storie diverse di 4 illustrazioni monocromatiche con i nostri rispettivi gruppi.
Non era la prima volta che vedevamo la procedura della serigrafia e siamo state felici di sperimentarla ancora. Purtroppo non è facile poterla usare anche a casa se non si ha a disposizione una fotoemulsione idrosolubile e una fonto a luce ultravioletta con cui si fissa l’immagine sul telaio.
Con il laboratorio di falegnameria, invece abbiamo costruito la struttura in legno dei kamishibai, una versione piccola e trasportabile, altrimenti possono essere molto più grandi.
Sicuramente all’inizio è stato impegnativo, non avevamo molta pratica con questi utensili, ma é stata un esperienza interessante.

🔸Kamishibai (纸 芝 居), which can be translated as “paper drama”, (from Kami: Paper and Shibai: Theater / Drama) is a Japanese storytelling technique that belongs to a long tradition of street stories, whose origin can be traced back to the Buddhist temples of Japan of the twelfth century.
The device is based on the scrolling of individual illustrated tables, which are inserted by the narrator (the kamishibaya) inside a small wooden theater (the butai) and through their scrolling they give life to a story.
Now that you know what a kamishibai is, we show you the project we participated in.
In our city two workshops were held that involved the realization of the Kamishibai, that of carpentry by TESTA DI LEGNO 🔨 and screen printing by Else Edizioni 🎨
We were divided into groups, so we divided and made two different stories of 4 monochromatic illustrations with our respective groups.
It was not the first time we saw the screen printing procedure and we were happy to experience it again. Unfortunately it is not easy to be able to use it even at home if you do not have a water-soluble photoemulsion and an ultraviolet light source with which the image is fixed on the frame.
With the carpentry workshop, instead we built the wooden structure of the kamishibai, a small and transportable version, otherwise they can be much larger.
Surely at the beginning it was challenging, we didn’t have much practice with these tools, but it was an interesting experience.

WINNER!! 5TH JUMP’S UNIVERSAL ILLUSTRATION CONTEST THEME: ONE PIECE
Ciao, oggi vi mostriamo il premio che abbiamo ricevuto dopo essere state selezionate tra i 5 vincitori della categoria “Special Winners” del contest dedicato a ONE PIECE.
Dal Giappone è arrivata una bellissima action figure di Sanji nelle vesti di Osoba Mask, apparso durante la saga di Wano.
Vedendo le action figures che hanno ricevuto anche gli altri vincitori di questa categoria, abbiamo capito che lo staff si è basato sui personaggi diegnati per decidere che tipo di figures spedire.
Noi avevamo praticamente il 50% di possibilità che ci venisse recapitato Sanji o Zoro, cosi eravamo veramente impazienti di scoprirlo.
Nel video che postiamo qui potrete vedere il momento in cui scartiamo il pacco con le nostre impressioni, è la prima volta che realizziamo un video come questo cosi speriamo possa essere apprezzato.

Hi, today we show you the prize we received after being selected among the 5 winners of the “Special Winners” category of the contest dedicated to ONE PIECE.
From Japan came a beautiful action figure of Sanji as Osoba Mask, who appeared during the Wano saga.
Seeing the action figures that the other winners in this category also received, we understood that the staff relied on the characters drawn to decide what kind of figures to ship.
We practically had a 50% chance that Sanji or Zoro would be delivered to us, so we were really eager to find out.

Il 6 aprile siamo state alla fiera del libro illustrato nella città di Bologna, una delle fiere più importanti d’Italia e d’Europa, dove c’è l’incontro con gli editori di tutto il mondo.
Eravamo molto eccitate, era la prima volta, ma è stata un’esperienza meravigliosa e la fiera è molto grande e bella.
C’erano sono esposti tutti i libri in edicola e tante nuove proposte. Tutto molto colorato !!!
Noi abbiamo creato delle illustrazioni per il libro “Alle montagne della follia” di H.P. Lovecraft e ci siamo presentate con le illustrazione e il progetto del libro.
Abbiamo ottenuto apprezzamenti ma soprattutto buoni consigli.L’incontro con gli editori è stato un confronto utile.
A casa abbiamo portato abbastanza cataloghi e biglietti da visita.

April 6 we were in the fair of the illustrated book in Bologna city, one of the most important fairs in Italy and Europe, where there is the meeting with editors from around the world.
We were very excited, it was the first time, but it was a wonderful experience and the fair is very big and beautiful.
There were exposed all the books on newsstands and many new proposals. All very colorful!!!
We created illustrations for the book “To the Mountains of Madness” by H.P. Lovecraft and we went with the illustration and the book project.
We got appreciations but especially good advice.The meeting with publishers has been a useful comparison.
At home we have brought enough catalogs and business cards.
